Dear all, my Duolian developped a nasty rattle (almost like distortion) after I had changed the tuners.
I soon noticed the rattle was gone as soon as I placed my hand on the coverplate in the handrest area or on the handest itself. After closer inspection it turned out the cone had slightly moved to the bass side although I kept the strings on the guitar (capoed on the side I was working on and under reduced tension on the other side). This led to the bridge touching the coverplate which caused all the noise. After all this was an easy fix and I thought this might help anyone looking for rattle cause (which can be a real pain).
All the best, Michael

When Marc Schoenberg was repairing my Duolian, he called and said, "Did you know there's a rattlesnake rattle inside your guitar?" "Yes, I do. I put it there!" "What's it for?" "Mojo!" "So, you want me to leave it in there?" "Damn right!"
