A new story related to Chris and one of his guitars has just hit the airwaves (tinternet) even though I know the story it is quite a story of which I am happy to be part of and Martyn has delivered to us all.

Thanks for posting Lee, enjoyed that. As you might recall from an earlier post I'm the proud owner of one of Chris's guitars and think of him when I play it. Something nice to leave behind, good music and memories.
Best wishes to you all, John

Well done Martyn, great story! I never met Chris, although we did speak on the phone a few times, but I did know Colin Brooks. He was a great man and extremely knowledgeable about National & Dobro instruments. Here is a beautiful portrait of the late Colin Brooks playing his MM Lightning. This painting is most poignant for me, because not only is it of a great man who is no longer with us, playing his MM guitar. But it was painted by Peter Messer, which was also my late father's name. Peter is also the owner of two MM guitars. Shine On Michael

Awww.. thanks guys.
This picture of Colin is the first time I've seen any idea of what he looked like - it's good to put a face to the name. Heard nothing but good about him.
It's a lovely instrument that I talk about in the video and what it tells me more than anything is how music connects people.
Through this forum, social media, gigging and getting guitars its opened a fantastic world of meeting likeminded people that love music and it's history.
Long may it continue for all of us!!
