I'd been quite fancying one of the Harmony H44 electric guitars, but the price of them is really getting up there, especially if one would have to be imported, so I've been exploring other options, if I could ever find a H44 to borrow and measure I'd quite like to make a copy of one, until then there's an Eastman Airline H44DLX in a music shop for (I think) a good price, has anyone played them and what do you think?, I played this one briefly but unamplified, I loved the feel of the big neck

They just look like real ones. Shine On Michael

I took apart several Eastwood guitars over the last few years. Nice necks and bodies, but hardware and electronics is hit or miss depending on the model. Worst case consider changing some/all wiring, pots, pickups, switches...tuners, bridge, tailpiece...

Hi Alex
I’ve not tried any of the airline guitars but I did recently pick up a reissue Supro Dual-Tone second hand. Not the new David Bowie model but the original fibre glass model. I haven’t tried an original Supro model to compare it to but I love it and it does also have a chunky neck. They do lots of models in various styles so might be worth a look if your after that vintage vibe without breaking the bank.
All the best David

There is something special about the original 50’s Supro/Valco pickups...so consider that when thinking about buying a reissue. I dont know how well they nailed it with the Supro reissues. I have seen a few in a local music shop. They do look and play real good but I never heard one through a good amp.
