Hi,
Does any forum member in the UK/EU have a copy of Scott Ainslie’s book “Robert Johnson - At The Crossroads” (Hal Leonard, 1992) that they are prepared to loan/sell me? I’d like to have a look.
It’s rarer than rocking horse droppings!
I understand he was shafted by the publishing company in a similar way to MM’s with PTB.
Cheers, keep safe

Hi Mitchfit,
Thanks for that. There are a few around at a reasonable cost in the US, but 75 bucks postage to the UK! I don't think it costs that much to ship a guitar. There are a couple in Australia too, only 25 bucks US from there to UK.
Managed to get one from the US but at a far more reasonable cost than the above. I hope its good, i'm not even a huge fan of RJ (!!!??!##) :-)
Scott Ainslie was at blues week a few years back and told us about the book. It was a success, had sold 20-30K units, then HL (allegedly) removed it from the portfolio and paid someone else (allegedly) to make a cheaper knock-off version.
(Admin please remove this post it it causes you any unease)
Cheers
KC

.. aha, would that be the one that I bought in error a few years back with "The New Transcriptions" on the cover thinking it was the Scott Ainslie book?

Hi PD, I've got the same book as you (useless to me, I can't read music or follow tabs). Looking at it today I noticed that the cover picture has him without the cigarette he is smoking in exactly the same picture on page 4. Given the discussion on another thread regarding photo tampering I thought this interesting. On the other hand I'm probably the only person on the forum who didn't already know about it! Fag added or fag removed?
Best wishes to you all, John

Fag ("tab" in Geordie speak) removed by the anti smoking lobby!
Don't get me started - no further comment.

Arrived OK, much earlier than specified BS delivery date. Amazon Marketplace must ship items over in bulk and then post them individually here (UK). £2.80 P&P from the states, not bad at all.
The tab is probably too much for me, I don’t want to play exactly like RJ, just for people to notice I’m playing an RJ song.
I like Scott’s notes, I now know what a “nation sack” is, and where he says (paraphrasing) “in verse X I can’t really tell what he is singing/playing so it’s a best guess”.
Satisfied customer.
Cheers
