It all comes round again. I went through this nearly 40 years ago and now we’re back there again. The guitar on this session, which was a shoot of four songs I think, is tuned in standard up to F#. It may have been to get more power for the recording equipment, or it may have been that African F# coming out again as it did with so many African American musicians in that time. It’s only up one whole tone from E standard.

Thanks Michael i apologise if you felt you had to repeat yourself .. Jon Please, no need to apologise. I didn’t mean that you shouldn’t ask. I actually find it fascinating that the same things come round as mine and the first generation of blues fans went through. Same questions about the same recordings. The classics are classic for a reason, because they are so good. Sometimes I forget that each person that starts the journey has to go through all the same stuff again because that’s what it takes and there are no shortcuts. It also makes me more aware of how much time has passed since I was jumping up and down having seen a film of Big Bill Broonzy playing Hey Hey for the first time. Shine On Michael
