No no no. Just seen Phil May has died. Pretty Things actually influenced my life, following the band around and making lots of friends. He loved Bo Diddley as much as I did. RIP Phil x

That is really sad news. Phil May was a lovely guy and the Pretty Things were a superb band. I met Phil a few times in the early '70s because a friend of mine was their roadie for a while. In recent years my friends, JC & Angelina Grimshaw, have worked with Dick Taylor and occasionally Phil May as a special guest. There are many obituaries online to read. Phil May >RIP Shine On Michael

Sad news, another rock legend gone - I can recall the Pretty Things' first ( I believe ) TV appearance, when 'Rosalyn' came out, back around 1964 - they outdid the Stones with their outrageous appearance, esp Phil May's shoulder-length hair, a real talking-point at school the next day! - i loved that record ( like anything Bo Diddley-ish ), & was chuffed in the late 80s to find myself in a blues band alongside Dick Taylor, who is a lovely bloke & very unassuming, - good that he & Phil kept their music going for so long,
RIP
