Sad news. I met Terry in the summer of 93 when I had the amazing experience of opening a show on the Rhythm Oil tour. 15 years old at the time and very green, all I can remember is being slightly tongue tied when I met the band, having just watched Michael, Terry and Jesse soundchecking side by side on a little stage. They seemed like giants. Terry seemed lovely, huge charisma and stature. Beautiful voice and songs. Needless to say, Rhythm Oil blew the roof off that little venue in Bristol.
Like many people, I knew Terry more through Michael's music than his own. Wished I'd followed his own career more closely but I intend to catch up now.

You know that my brother Alan was at that show and somewhere buried deep in his boxes of negatives and contact sheets, there are a whole load of photos of that night. Shine On Michael

My memories of Terry were of his 12 string Guild jangling away, sad to let things go but that is the way of things when you are able to let go of some possessions.
I have nearly come to the end of helping the widow of Washboard Chris and his instrument relocation, it takes time and is sensitive as there are a lot of memories associated with each instrument, logistically it takes time and there are the usual worries associated with shipping and trust with consideration for the right fit for the next owner to ensure the instruments carry the torch of the former owner.
But also a sense of pride around doing the decent thing for people and there families in times like these.
Shine on Terry where ever you may be.
Lee
