If I'm not mistaken he owned the Duolian that originally belonged to Max Miller.

Indeed it is sad news that Roy Hudd has died. Twenty or so years ago while involved in some research I was in touch with Roy about Max Miller's National Duolian, which he had owned for many years. He was charming and helpful. I am really not sure that Roy's death is relevant to this forum, but since it has been posted I will keep it here as a mark of respect. We have talked about Max and Roy on the forum previously, I have a tenuous link to the spitting image story. Roy was also very involved with Musical theatre/music halls and deserves a tip of the hat from all directions

Absolutely. Roy does own Max Miller's National and certainly when I was in touch with him back whenever that was, he was still playing it.
The comedy series, Spitting Image, made a programme about Max Miller. They contacted me to ask if they could borrow a nice shiny silver National guitar with palm trees for the shoot. When I asked about the show and they told me it was about Max Miller, I told them that Max didn't play a Style 0, but they just wanted a pretty shiny guitar and didn't care about the historical facts being correct. Needless to say I didn't lend them a guitar and sent them to Vintage & Rare Guitars to rent one.
