There’s an all mahogany 14 fret 00 from Paul Brett. It’s fairly incredible for £100 and I’ve sung its praises in the past but it is a budget guitar obviously

For that style of music if you want the old sound you need a ladder braced guitar. However, the player is more important than the guitar so, yes a small bodied instrument. 12 frets have a fuller sound. For the cost of a Waterloo or Atkin you could get a pre war Stella from dealer even if you add import charges and still have change. And now I've just seen that Kalamazoo on the other thread. Not easy, this!

By far the easiest I've played for fingerpicking style and making chords. I was going to return it because of the size and then my second mind said wait a minute - you can actually play this out of the box, the action is low, it's Great to learn on. Does not work for me for slide the way it is set up. Harriet

All the Chicago cheap stuff was solid and jointed with hide glue. You can tell because it runs out of all the joints.... they weren’t big on clean-up. Save for the Gibson stuff like the Kalamazoo which were far better in construction

The body without the freboard and headstock is is about 19 1/2" and it's about 4 1/2" deep. Google says the dreadnaught body size is about 20". I think the models on Waterloo run about 19 1/4" on the body, 4 1/4" on depth and are not being advertised as parlors.

And those are grand concert and concert sized instruments - I'm thinking the term parlor might refer to shape within a certain size range

playcountryblues.com/guitars-for-sale/
And those are grand concert and concert sized instruments - I'm thinking the term parlor might refer to shape within a certain size range
I think there is a lot of misunderstanding about what a parlour guitar is. I would say it's anything with a lower bout of 12 1/2" or less. But it seems to now be used for any guitar 00 sized or smaller.

I'd like to find something that size ideally, but there aren't too many being made these days, it seems.
