A lifelong Londoner (pretty much) I now find myself out in the country with time at my disposal once again. I understood there to be a reasonable live music scene but on closer inspection it seems mainly tribute acts and karaoke, there aren't even ay open mics in the locale.
Is anyone in the area currently playing out or does anyone fancy helping to set up an acoustic jam/open type of thing?

There are several open mic events every week, but I usually go to ‘jams’ at the Earl of Beaconsfield , Mill Rd (from9.00) It’s a small pub and it has a well attended Acoustic Jam every Tuesday, very dominated by blues, as jamming to a 12bar is relatively straight forward ( usually an electric bass and a small drum kit and often an electric guitar sneaks in). On Sunday the ‘Beeky’ also hosts an electric jam(8.30 start) with loud guitars , bass and drums. Some old blues players plus some jazz funk every thing in between . Pete

This week Extinction Rebellion are trying to get the climate change message to West Cambridge motorists, if you were to come this week you might want to come round the ring-road and approach from the North or South . Pete

Let's talk music and acoustic jams in Bedfordshire for coach.
Coach, If there's a shortage of what you are looking for, you should set one up. If we don't do these things they don't happen.
PD it's "Beck"

Hi Michael, actually that is the long term plan as the other half and I are in the process of setting up a cafe. It's rural and primarily aimed at walkers/cyclists but I do have the go-ahead to play a little live music occasionally.

Pete Looks like another bad spell wether ahead No Pete, I wasn't on about the spelling, it was the implied pronunciation. Us Bucks boys pronounce Beaconsfield as 'Beckonsfield' - it's them ladidas who pronounce it 'Beekonsfield'. ...and whilst I'm moanin' about South Bucks, a lot of the Gerrards Cross residents now think and say that they live in a village - it's a bl88dy TOWN! I was born, then lived about 4 to 6 miles from them places, and before anyone else says it: "Bucks born, Bucks bred, stout in arm and thick in 'ed!" MM, how do you pronounce the place name. then? Not to drift off Coach’s topic but didn’t know you were a fellow local! Definitely “BECK” not “BEEK”
