Thanks Jono, I'll give that a shot tonight.
Reminds me of the time many years ago in a local music shop. Jack Bruce is knocking seven bells out of a Warwick bass and a young lad casually mentions "that guy can play blues, can't he?" Jack looks round over his shoulder and states "Laddie, I AM the blues!"
Wonder if those Canadian film chappies were in the shop, too.

Big Jack Johnson, known as The Oil Man, toured over here once or twice. I wouldn't call him a legend. This word gets brandished around far too much in the world of blues music. Jack was a working musician whose breakthrough moment was appearing in the Robert Mugge / Robert Palmer / Dave Stewart documentary film, Deep Blues, which was also responsible for giving a world stage to Junior Kimborough, Jack Owens, Jesse Mae Hemphill and Lonnie Pitchford. Made in the early 90s, Deep Blues was a very important film because it was the first TV documentary about the blues that had been made for a long time. Jack Johnson also played on the soundtrack of the Samuel Jackson movie, Black Snake Moan. This is a wonderful film of Jack Johnson playing Catfish Blues in the Deep Blues documentary. Wow! Thanks for the recommendation. just watched it and I really enjoyed it! Another excellent music documentary on Prime is "Echoes In The Canyon". Not Blues, but all the musicians were deeply influenced by them. Also, if you've never seen it, the feature film "Cadillac Records" is definitely with watching and also available on Prime. It's a big budget hollywood film but it's really good and loosely based on fact. The story of Lenord Chess, Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Howling Wolf, Etta James and more!

There’s quite a few on Amazon, just searching for “Blues” I’ve found docs on Lightnin’ Hopkins, Mance Liscombe and Honeyboy Edwards
Cheers
