playing lap style guitar now and i want some advice on what guage of strings to use,would 15 to 56 or would heavier be better,i have a custom built lapstyle built by John Alderson,the only way i can describe it is its a cross between a dobro and a weisembourne in design,you advice would be much appreciated. petej

Hello Pete,
You should be fine with 15/56 using DGDGBD / DADF#AD / GBDGBD. Sometimes when I am playing lap style in DADF#AD for a whole project I use 16/59s, but my advice to you would be to go with 15/56s and see how that feels.
