My beloved National , 14 fret , rolled holes. Head was broken (taking the serial number with it) decades ago and repaired. What l would like to know, can anyone tell me what year it was made ?

Hi there !
I'd say 1934.
I have one just like it from 1934, with brass coverplate and ribs. I have a 1935 one just like it with steel coverplate, more arched, and turned in at the cenre hole (I guess to improve vaing-in resistance !), without ribs.
Brass/Steel coverplates were a bit random though - and who knows, the headstock may have been solid, instead of slotted, so it could be 1936 !

Many thanks to you. I've no intention of parting with it but have been curious since I got it about it's age.
