Apologies to anyone who is getting sick of my videos!! I Just thought I would post one more. This is a not a direct cover but I was messing around with Buckets of Rain and came up with this - very much inspired by Michael's and Robbie McIntosh's fantastic version on YouTube - check it out if you haven't seen it. Sorry Michael, I might have stolen a couple of your slide licks here!
This is the first time I've recorded my 60's Martin 0-18 and I love it. I've always had a thing for small bodied Martins and I acquired it last year but have mostly kept it in standard tuning for fingerpicking not slide. It's very different to my Gibson L-00, as you would imagine! It lacks the low end of the Gibson and doesn't sound as full but it has such a sweet, singing top end to the sound. Anyway, hope you like it.

5slide, that is very nice. You have a gentle touch.
It's a lovely tune that I knew, but I had never played or even thought about playing until that moment. You missed out our Christmas licks!
Thank you for your kind words.

Nice!
Keep 'em comin'....
Having seen Robbie and Michael do this one at Pocklington a couple of years ago, I rushed home and tried to learn it before the sound was lost to my tiny brain cell. Took a while and I can now make a reasonable fist of it, Christmas licks 'n all, although the run down confused me to start with.

Thank you for your kind words. Shine On Michael Thanks for the kind words Michael. Yes I did have a chuckle at the Christmas bits, especially your twinkle twinkle... Some great improv, especially since you hadn't played it before! I hadn't listened to Bob Dylan for a long time and I'd forgotten how much I love that tune. Yours and Robbie's version really inspired me.

I like Robbie's version of the run down using the bass notes - always good when you don't have a bass player! I plan on sitting down and figuring that out at some point!
