Just watched this, Dave Kelly playing slide at 3.45 is brilliant, as are the other performances. Hope you enjoy.

Resonator spotted at 38;18, also Danny Thompson one of my favourite Bass players is seen a lot, good stuff, thanks for dredging this up from the 80,s channel 4 when they had a good roster of blues related stuff (search for Robert Johnson with John Hammond etc).

I remember watching this documentary when it was broadcast on Channel 4. They ran a whole series of blues documentaries that were broadcast in the afternoons. I recorded them on my Betamax recorder and probably still have them ....somewhere.
Dave looks well and young! The person that really caught my eye when scooting through it this morning was the late Geoff Bradford. Geoff was so important in the formation and history of the British blues scene. Along with Brian Knight, Brian Jones, Dick Taylor and Charlie Watts, he formed a band called Blues By Six, which were often playing the same clubs as the Rolling Stones. Later, after that morphed into the Rolling Stones, Geoff joined Cyril Davies. He continued to make music right through his life until he died in 2014. Geoff was the proud owner of an MM Blues guitar and was very helpful when I was trying to piece together the history of blues slide guitar in Britain.

Loved Geraint Watkins playing boogie piano at 20.14. He played with Red Beans and Rice, a local Cardiff R n B band who were tremendous. We also went to the same school, Cathays High, in Cardiff. He's older than me, so I didn't know him, but I'd heard of him, as a guitarist, and poet. I was editor of the annual school magazine, and saw old copies, with his wonderful poetry in. MM got a mention on Geoff Bradford's Wiki page, where they mentioned Michael's obituary for Geoff Bradford - michaelmesser.proboards.com/thread/7267/geoff-bradford
