Does any one know why I can't get Newtone National strings in the USA? All my usual online sources don't have them anymore. I really love these strings.

You can always order them directly on line from Newtone, they're very helpful. They are excellent strings aren't they.
Best wishes to you all, John

Hi piro39, I use them and switched over to ordering direct, the website link is here: newtonestrings.com/ I am noticing on the postage detais page they have a new system. I usually order a couple of packs at a time in advance of any need as it can take longer to be on the safe side. You might want to ask the US supplier you were using as to why they're no longer being carried or Neil at Newtone. My understanding was that it was a business decision. Originally when they went off the US suppliers, I could get them through a UK vendor, but now its seems it'sjust them. Best, Harriet

Hi Piro39 Thanks for enquiring and for loving these strings. Harriet is correct that the best way is to order direct from Newtone. It was a business decision that the new owner, Neil, had to make because the dealers were making more than he was. These days they are packaged in vacuum packs for longer shelf life. Shine On Michael

They do sometimes run out as I found the other week but it was only a couple of days before the were back in. What bother's me is none of the chesterfield guitar stores sell newtone strings of any sort which is utter insanity as the factory is only 5 minutes away.
I love the steels myself Michael though I did have to get used to them at first but I digress because I just can't believe they are not sold locally!

I presume if you sell your product direct then you maximise profits and keep a tighter rein on production schedules. I never liked dealing with middle men when I was a sole trader. I've only made a purchase from Neil at Newtone once since he took over from Malcolm and provided you don't want it yesterday he's a pleasure to deal with.

The type of strings most of us are interested in would be considered a niche product by the big guys. We're lucky to have Newtone and MM's. Now that I'm used to ordering on line, or phoning and chatting with Neil if I need advice or guidance I find it convenient. Like many of you I like to support my local music shops, but they are reluctant to carry stock on anything other than bog standard string ranges, albeit reluctantly. Well worth the effort, great strings and following on from another thread, as they come straight from the factory you know they're genuine!
Best wishes to you all, John

Hi all It wasn't a critism I'm just surprised that you can't get them in any music shops nearest the factory. Of course reso strings are a niche product but they make acoustic and electric strings as well and it's odd that no one stocks them.
I always buy newtone though as I believe in supporting local businesses and the fact that they sell MM's is the icing on the cake.
Cheers everyone
