Don’t have a cone, but have an old Shireson guitar going cheap!

If you click on the reply button, the window has an "add attachment" button.

Files need to be less than 2Mb. I use a Mac and reduce the size in preview, if you're on PC I don't know I'm afraid.

The 3 Schireson's I have are (from left to right) a hollowneck, a resophonic mandolin and a resophonic guitar. Attachments:

Excellent, almost folk art aren't they ? I don't suppose they take a standard cone ?

Lovely but I have to say I'm not keen on the 'colander' cover plates, though I suppose you could say the same thing about National single cones. Any reason the bridge pegs are offset on the hollowneck? (Now that's a good name for Weissenborn style guitars).

I have a George La Foley made in London 1922 look very like the hollowneck, The brochure calls it a "Boxneck" which I think is spot on Attachment Deleted

Apologies since I am guessing this dialog doe not belong in this column...but I recall reading somewhere that a standard National cone will fit in a Shireson but never tried it. I have a metal body Shireson reso that could use some work to get better tone and playability, but the neck joint inside looks like a one off kludge job... would probably be better if it was fitted with a National cone...maybe someday.
