It's a great collection but the prices are pretty high in my opinion. I like the Triolians, I sold one of each of those last year. The wood body really was the sweetest National I've ever played but a bit too precious to take to the Pub.
I'd have a go at the Mandolin but I suspect the strings are pretty near the coverplate which makes picking a bit tricky. Every Reso Mandolin I've had, Dobro etc. has been the same. Dobro Guitars have a nice recess thereabouts to give your pick a bit of room.
I Wish him luck and it's a great collection. I don't personally see a stripped Duolian with no Decal being £2,000 worth. The Collegian, as mentioned above, started life as a square neck, and £2,500 is a lot of dosh. If it were me, I'd mention the neck modification.
