hi- thanks for your welcome,
hi john, right -lower case- comforts my one-hand-thumb- finger-typing. if you ask me to change it i'll do so.
i scraped off all color with a sharp tin blade. the top binding was almost gone with the last refinish - as the front verneer was. i left the binding like that and replaced the verneer (mirrored american maple, this part was really a challenge). unfortunately i made no photos at the neck-off stage- seems that i was too nervous when i found lots of wood filler at the neck socket. neck adjustment works counterbalanced. but the one from below really tightens the neck finally. some strat necks are made similar. it's the same with the national 1133.
hi michael- i'm used to choose mm -- millimetres . not bad too--(-:
i can post larger files but i think you won't get any more information from them:) the neck part- i have to look for more detailed photos.
best martin mühlhoff

one thing the space between heel and body was filled with something. maybe the srews are ment are only for one setting at the omi dobro factory. i don't know how it looks at a untouched guitar of this series. i found two photos with the neckrest and the adjustment screw (in the stage with the verneer works). the adjustment screw lifts the neck up at the very end and tilts it down whats lowering the strings after all. after levelling you fix the neck with the other screw (allen hex in Inch as i remember) from underneath.

I’ve got a 1973 114 that I love. Apparently the previous owner (someone named Stienmetz, according to the mailbox letters on the case) played it lap style. I set it up Spanish style. It took a little tinkering, hit or miss, to get the neck angle where I wanted it. I think I have D’Addario 13-56 on it. Probably been on it for 2-3 years...strings last me forever. I think the 114 is a god awful ugly thing but it is rock solid, stays in tune, and is always at the ready, never a hothouse flower.
I also have a (basically unplayed) 1986 model 1000 and a 1979 60DS that my brother bought new.

Hi ksdaddy and welcome to the forum. Your 114a makes 3 that have shown up on this thread so far! Ugly is a bit strong, I prefer interesting or unusual! Lol! Nice sounding guitars aren't they? Action on mine is 3mm good for slide and the bit of fretting I can do. Thanks for posting, pictures of all guitars and amps welcome here!
Best wishes to you all, John
