I'll try and weigh mine later. .... but why does your mate need to know? They are what they are, weighing it or knowing the weight makes no difference, or does it?

I don't know, but he has tried a steel reso & it was too heavy for him & now seems very doubtful about resos in general

Hi Chris
I don't have one here to weigh, but I can tell you they're a lot lighter in weight than a steel or brass bodied guitar.
PD, thanks in advance for weighing yours

I tried to weigh mine, but my scales are inaccurate.
I got mine 2nd hand recently, as it is much lighter than a metal bodied resonator, and I'd recommend one. Great tone and projection.

Done it - 5.2lb = 2.36Kg.
Hope that helps - interesting that Johns is heavier - would Michael expect that, I wonder?

Done it - 5.2lb = 2.36Kg. Hope that helps - interesting that Johns is heavier - would Michael expect that, I wonder? John's MMB28 was reared on a different diet to PD's MMB28. We find that grass fed resophonic guitars are not only lighter, but a little faster on the bends. Seriously...I have no idea why they would be different weights. Maybe the coverplates are different, or the truss rods, or someone left their spanner inside one.... or one of the scales is not accurate. Not sure. I have never noticed a difference when handling MMB28s and I have handled a lot of them. When the next shipment comes in I will weigh each one I pack and see what the results are. Shine On Michael

I think our scales are accurate - I was 100Kg at the doctors Thursday evening and 100Kg on ours today. Same scruffy clothes, not eaten tea and had evacuated an hour before weigh-in (guess who boxed at 64Kg. as a callow youth?).
Oh, and the guitar weight was calculated as the difference between my weight on my own and my weight with guitar in hand so it should eliminate any "span" (not Spam) variables.

My bathroom scales give me one reading (not saying) then when I try again miraculously I'm 2lb.lighter. I tend to go for the second reading but unless you've splashed out on a reasonably pricey set you're only going to get an approx.reading. I'd take it to the post office for an accurate reading.
