Hi, I'm selling my TMB5, which is the adjustable bridge/tailpice for resos. I've had it about 5 years and it works perfectly. You can tune each string to 3 different pitches and so once you have done that you can change any strings you want between its 3 assigned pitches, thus having the ability to create tunings in any of those 3x6 combinations. HIPSHOT claim adjustments of "the 6th and 5th strings are approximately an octave; the 4th and 3rd strings are over a fifth; the 2nd string is approximately a fourth; and the 1st string is over a minor third.)” I can't vouch for these, but I have personally used changes from GBDGBD to DGDGBD and DADGAD and DADF#AD and Standard (EADGBE), as well as variants like dropped D, double dropped D, etc.
The unit I am selling is silver colour (chrome over brass, I believe). The units originally come without an endpin hole. Mine was drilled to fit the endpin position in my 1975 OMI hound dog, but also worked fine on a lap style reso I had. Obviously, I can’t guarantee the hole will fit exactly your endpin position, and you may need to fill and redrill. If you have asoundhole jack socket, you will need to drill out the TMB5 more to accommodate it.
There is some scuffing of the chrome where the endpin fits and a scuff mark where each of the changers sits on the tailpiece. I have tried to show these in the photos, but they are very minor. The area of discoloration to the left in pic 3 is just bad photography – the chrome is perfect there. I'd like £100 for this unit plus £7 for postage. I will post Royal mail tracked insured. Because of postage variations, I'll only send to UK. Collection is welcome.
Thanks for looking, Rob

Not to be crass, but why are you selling it? I've always wondered how well this principle works on acoustic instruments...

I'm selling it because I have changed my approach to tunings in lap playing and now use GBDGBD more or less exclusively. It is actually very accurate and I rarely needed to fine tune when shifting between the tunings. Cheers, Rob

Hi helly7,
After I put my post in, I only came to my senses that I was kind of hijacking resorobbie’s thread. Didn’t mean to be cheeky.
No replies from him since December though, so maybe it’s fair game now ?
I honestly do not remember how much these things cost to buy. Might have been as much as £150. Must do an online search. I’d ask for half of whatever the brand new price is, plus shipping, of that sounds fair. PM me and I’ll send some photos.

Hi snakehips, to my opinion it will be the best that you sell it via ebay. There i will find it for sure. regards

I have no intention of putting it on ebay. You want it, you know how to contact me, as mentioned already, via PM.
