I am very pleased to say that a new Lightning has arrived to keep my MM28 company. It has a truly massive sound, great tone and sustain, plays fingerstyle with consummate ease and looks fantastic. All I need to do now is find out how to add a picture to this thread, I’ve taken a pic and have it in Dropbox but the piccie tool to get it on here is asking for a URL, how do i deal with this? Thanks Mike.

Hi Mike
Thank you for your kind words.
I am pleased that you are happy with your new guitar.
I am not the best person to explain how to post a photo on here, but you can just upload it as an attachment from your computer. Do not use the quick reply option, just click REPLY and all the stuff should appear.
Thanks Mike
Shine On Michael.

Thanks for the tip Michael. I tried it but it said my pic was too big, 2mb limit, I have no idea what my pic size was or how to make it smaller....oh well, bestleave it alone I guess.

Aha, a piccie appeared but it’s a bit tiddly...but if you click on it a larger version appears. I’m determined to sort this out some way or another.

Hi Mike,
Try emailing the pic/s to yourself then save to your desktop. This should reduce the resolution. Then you can use add attachment in your post using reply.

I've always struggled with images sizes and resolutions and and...
Since the demise of photochucket, I've used Postimage to host image files. This remote hosting removes the quite understandable file size restriction imposed under the "free" nature of Proboards forums. On the other hand, you are still imposing the data load on the individual forum reader's ISP account. This may be unlimited on wifi or a domestic arrangement, but is generally limited when using a mobile or cellphone account. It can also make the image physically far too large for the screen and that gets annoying very rapidly.
The better solution is to get your head around how to manage image file sizes, so perhaps I should practise what I preach because as stated it still baffles me. Over the years, I have made lots of photo prints that looked great on the screen preview which turned out to be the size of a postage stamp in the middle of an A4 sheet!
Anyway, congrats on the Lightning Mike. A good choice! Great sounding / playing and eye candy too. My nickel plated MM reso is the only guit-fiddle that is allowed to reside in the sitting room!
e&oe...

Congrats on the New Guitar !
You're on the right track cropping as it does make file size smaller. What you need to be able to do is save the image at a lower resolution (800x600 pixels fer instance)
This used to easier when most smartphones and cameras had simple editors included. Now they have been "upgraded" into being able to alter images in ways that make me look skinny... At the expense of a fat file.
If you're feeling intrepid try downloading and learning a photo editing app... If not, I suggest finding someone who is able (any person under 25yrs old?)
I use an older Mac book with a cheapie version of photoshop. If nothing else i like to save photos to another device in case of disaster...
My new android phone with included software will change aspect ratio but not do any re sizing. My four year old moto will allow saving re sized images. Many devices, no standards...
Before I go full rant, there is that guitar always willing to rescue me from this mean ole technology.
