I’m selling my pre-production prototype Blues ‘28. I purchased it from Michael at Blues Week a while back (2013?). It has a 4mm top unlike the production models where it is 6mm. It has no markings or serial number but Michael is not averse to adding these if they are important to you. It came with a ‘vanilla’ cover plate and so I bought an MM one from Busker Guitars and put in a NRP hot-rod cone. The original cover plate and cone are included in the sale if you want them. It also comes with a fitted hard case. It’s in Leeds and you are welcome to collect though I will ship in the UK at cost, and your own risk. £425

Just wondering, what difference does the thinner top make? Cheers.

None that I can notice, and I’ve been in a room of several production models. The sound comes mostly from the resonator, that why you can make them with ply, MDF etc

Just a comment....
I had a short play on this one at Pocklington - I liked it - alas it wasn't for sale at the time.
You could do worse...

Hello, Still for sale? If so ....what are sending costs to the Netherlands Greetings Reggie I will have to investigate, though I don’t normally ship across international boundaries because of PayPal scams. As you are in Europe at least there will be no tax :-)

Yeah, allthough in the Netherlands up till now, for private packages its a small chance there id a control. If so you have to pay tbe missed....taxes, never bad a ticket (?) But I would be very happy if you would look for se ding costs. I wohld LOVE to have the orinal cover and cone (For yeard i am, very slowly, building a jazz resonator crossover..... If I give you 380 pounds + sending costs ( if not verrry expensive...) can we have a deal that way? Then you are not " investigating" without knowing. And I have an idea of having a sort of agreement (or a dream of a more original sounding reso) in my head.... Till next time

All I can say is this; asking price was 450. Sending for free. I live in Holland so 430 for the guitar and all sending costs for me is the start. I do not mind paying 400 for the guitar. But ok. I did not mean my message rude or anything. I suppose i lost. Hope you have a good time with this guitar. If it is still for sale now....for 400.....sending costs are for me Anyway sorrie and greetings Reggie Well meant greeti gs

This is why negotiations happen in PMs. Everyone seems to have an opinion as to what it’s worth but I’ve decided to let the market decide. it’s now on ebay
