Just got this small Taylor cheap as the top is split and the bridge has come off. What's the best way forward? ? PT

Can't see the top split but the bridge is easy. Make certain both surfaces are free of glue and debris, then glue it up and clamp it. You are probably fine with some titebond wood glue and a few spool camps threaded through the pin holes if you don't have the big soundhole C clamps.

That's sounds good advice, but I have other plans!

Hi Pete, involving at least one resonator cone I dare say! Best wishes to you all, John

....seems a pity to wreck the Taylor as an experiment!! But....Hey-Ho....! I have had second thoughts and I think I will do the repair rather than a conversation. It's a simple repair and the body will look odd with a full sized cover plate. I was tempted to do a 'full metal jacket' but the Taylor is so lightly built it would need lots of reinforcing. The guitar has cost me £40, if anyone has a similar instrument with a badly damaged top I would love to buy it for that sort of money. PT.

Second thoughts! After starting what was going to be a simple bridge re-glue, I found the top had a small split, again not a hard repair. Then I found one X brace loose near the sound hole and also at the other end near the end block. I think it maybe back to plan A. Now where is my jig saw? PT
