Just picked this up on ebay for £35. Sounds OK - thought I'd convert it into a reso On a serious note, what's the oldest guitar you have? I actually have nothing older than 1960s/70s. TT

I've got a lovely Kalamazoo 14 fretter from 1937. Looks very nice. Wasn't looking for it, found it upstairs in a shop that sold classical guitars that I almost didn't bother looking in! Best wishes to you all,John

PD - although its a beaut, it was tongue in cheek intro - it's the worlds oldest Martin (1834). Just curious to see who's got what here. TT

I've also got an old European parlour (my skip dive special) which someone told me could be 1920s - not sure as it needed a bridge, tailpiece and tuners to get it playable - and it has a round neck profile.

TT hook line and sinker... yep I fell for it ! Those Tuners are intriguing for sure... Figured you at least had a nice piece of "art" for yer 37quid. Im not sure if this is old or even exactly what model. It was given to me by the owner of a music store here with a couple others I purchased when they were going out of business... Paperwork says L-50 but research says its more likely a L-45 0r 48. It was a display model hanging on the wall, has been re finished and the pick guard replaced. ( I have the original which is decayed to an extent that indicates "Old") Tuners look newish and are not the grovers Id expect on a gibby from the 30's... Serial # never showed up on any search Ive made. These were student models and there is less info on them than with other gibson guitars. Pardon my threadjackery, but Any Ideas or info on this un-dated enigma much appreciated. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedAttachment DeletedIf this isnt my oldest Ive got a definite 1936 EH-150... But is a lap steel really a "guitar"? Another topic for another day. All Best, Jeff

A 1935 Harmony La Habanera parlour guitar, although I have an older Harmony Tiple and a mandolin from the same period. IMG_1494 by Laurie Franks, on Flickr

Hey all
Mine is a late 30s/early 40s classical that belonged to my grandad. He was in the navy during WW2 and one of the other crewman bought it on a shore visit somewhere but he didn't know how to play it but my grandad did. My grandad used to play it on the ship to entertain all the sailors and after the war he purchased it from the guy that bought it. My grandad passed quite some time ago but we did a house clearance recently when my grandma went into a home and I inherited it.
For a classical guitar it sounds surprisingly good playing finger style blues, it has a lot of attack!!
It's a guitar that means a great deal to me and I will treasure for the rest of my days!!
All the best David
