Just get some Nitromors. Job done. You could strip the paint off your reso at the same time if appropriate. The Ship was never the same after Steve and Annie M upped sticks and re-located to Yoxford. Seriously though, how would one contrive a loop at the end of dressing gown cord? (or at least one that I would be prepared to "hang my hat on"- reso-wise?) Got me thinking...

Hi Jono,
You don't need to make a loop as such, you just tie it to the strap button with a single knot.

the straps you found on ebay Pickers seem to be looped then have some kind of tape wrapped round? Hi Jono1uk, If you are referring to the pink sections, that's a cord of a much lighter weight wrapped a bunch of times - I don't know whether that's done by hand, you can best see it if you enlarge the pix and look at the pink against green tassle, you can see a bit of the pick cord section sticking out slightly. I'm skeptical that any tape would hold with weight pulling on the cord. Harriet

how easy would it be to form a loop at one end ? Assuming your cord has 3 strands, an eye-splice is very simple:

I don't like straps up by the nut because for me they get in the way... Shine On Michael
