Pretty much how I feel about it. Just hope it wasn't played by anyone with anything catching! I've only played resonators up till now,can definitely see the attraction of these after just 24hours! Thanks again everyone, please keep the info coming. Best wishes, John

Thanks Davey, I can see but can't make out yet a series of numbers/letters on the base of the neck inside the guitar. Waiting for my grandson's young eyes to have a look! Best, John

Hi guys, the Kalamazoo 14 has become a favourite of mine! Nice article in this months guitarist magazine. Interesting comment on the shape of the headstock saying that the shaped stock appeared after 1938. Mine has a straight sided headstock which I suppose dates it earlier than that. Hope you all are well, best wishes to you all, John

I also love the old Kalamazoo they sound very different to the x braced models of the time interesting what you read about the head stock I have see allot of random stuff on these guitars they were knocking them out between 35 to 38, I love the one piece back my L00 isn't one piece but my kg11 is must be lower grade wood but the finish is almost identical between a L00 and a Kg .I have owned a kg11 and a kg14 which have very different sounds, your one looks in good condition congratulations . The ladder braced have a lovely midrange tone , the bottom end is missing but is sounds perfect for finger-style blues Benn at vintagelicks is an amazing source of knowledge on these guitars and is always happy to answer questions If you look through the sold section you will probably see one which looks like yours check the date Benn have given it.. the kg12s are slightly later (they have tortoise shell binding) around 1941 gibson started screwing down the bridges that is a rock solid way of dating then. The L00 are a little easier as gibson changes the turners from year to year vintagelicksguitars.com/category/sold-vintage-guitars/kalamazoo-gibson-guitars/
