Saw a band last night - hipsters . Anyhoo, the guitar player was playing what looked like a modern hounddog with some internal material covering the soundholes. He was playing with a what looked like a dearmond type pick-up bolted near the neck. Feedback issues? Too loud?? It sounded pretty average to be honest. TT

It's the same theory as putting those plastic discs in the sound hole of an acoustic. It is to stop feedback. It would be easier and would sound better if they played electric guitars, but they don't look so cool.
