Well, now I'm jealous. How old is this kid? No fair! That's life; if everything was fair would we have the blues music which we love and play? Blimey that's a bit deep for a Tuesday lunchtime, innit?

Mickey, he's ten years old and in for a surprise when he gets home from school.
For the price (£148 GBP including delivery), you can't really go wrong....or maybe you can! ...I'll let you know what I think of the Jim Dandy when I have seen it later today.

I have just been playing the Gretsch Jim Dandy and I am impressed.
For £148 it is a really nice little parlour guitar. It is well put together and the materials are good too. It is made of Agathis wood, which is a cheap far eastern mahogany substitute.
All in all it's a lovely guitar for the price and at that price you can't go wrong.
Thanks for the recommendation

He absolutely LOVES IT! ....and it is a perfect size for him. It is much nicer than most other small guitars in that price bracket. Most are children's guitars, whereas this is a parlour guitar and has a bit of character in its look.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Now we need a nice gig bag for it.

Great stuff! Yes it does have a bit of character, often gets commented on. Glad he likes it.
