Played a regal last year - it was very nice. Owned a recording king - also very nice. Owned a tanglewood for a few weeks - the coverplate didn't fit well on the body, and the headstock was horrid. I think most budget tricones are actually quite decent. TT

Does anyone know if the tricone bodies from far east are from the same source and essentially the same..? I tend to believe the major difference is the quality of the necks... I have two regal tricone bodies that I fitted with NRP necks, and they sound pretty good...of course not equivalent to the old Nationals...

They are not all the same. The RK had a very flat 'soundboard', and the tanglewood had a slight curve to the front to give the 1% (or so) neck angle. Maybe with the slightly different specs, that's why the coverplate didn't fit well? TT

Deuce is correct - they are not all from the same factory. Regal appear to be having guitars built in two, maybe three factories.

Hi jono1uk, I am considering selling my Busker Deco. No rush, especially as I am going to be away from home for the next month almost. Ping me in a month or so, if you are still interested/have the cash together and I'll send you some pics, etc. Regards, Pat
