Just glimpsed a shiny "F" holed single cone at 53:30 of Robert Altman's "A Prairie Home Companion" written by Garrison Keillor and featuring (among others) Meryl Streep and Kevin Klein. I stepped through the scene but could not identify the instrument, although a later shot seemed to show a slot head.
Last night on the news - item about the vote to remove the 'dukes of hazzard' flag from the congress building... Black busker playing a dobro - couldn't see what it was, or hear the tune well though. TT
Got on local TV last month, with my bandmate, Prof Scratchy, to help the Edinburgh Blues Club promote their club. It was on the local "STV Edinburgh" channel, on the "Fountainbridge Show". We played one song, and I was interviewed briefly with the representative from the Edinburgh Blues Club. The interviewer asked about my guitar, so, I showed my 1930 National Style O, front and back to the cameras. Doing my bit getting Nationals on the media !!!f
For anyone interested enough to want to watch it, you will have to sign up to free membership of the STV Player, log in and find Friday 27th November episode of the Fountainbridge Show, AND troll past the first 30mins of the show, to get to our segment, for the interview and song. The video will only be available for 8 more days, then I'm not sure if it will be available anywhere, after that. I don't know of any easier way of accessing it than that, sorry !
