Hi all,
I need a different neck for my Fender Modern Player tele. I've worked out what I need on the Warmouth site and it comes in at £166 plus shipping and tax. Not to bad.
Does anyone have experience with Warmouth necks and is there a builder in the UK that can build to the same or simmilar dimensions.
Thank you
Mike

Hi MN,
I first encountered a Warmoth neck on my Yamaha Pacifica 904. Compound radius. Set up to die for. Suitably impressed, I subsequently purchased two more, one for a "Strat" and one for a "Tele". They are superb and worth the expense. If you don't buy ready lacquered, then they will not warrant the necks if you leave them without any treatment just because "you prefer them that way". I have dealt with them on the 'phone and found them to be helpful and flexible on the quoted hellish postage when I later purchased a celluloid Strat back plate. I purchased 1/4 sawn necks. These are very stiff and I had to resort to getting them set up by someone who knows better than me! In my opinion, the product is up there with USA Custom guitars. Although your mileage may vary, I still feel happy to recommend them without hesitation. If you're in the UK, plan on getting charged by Customs and Excise, you will get hit. The side truss rod adjusters are wonderful too, jess sayin'like...

Thank you Stevie for your experience I will bear it in mind. Apologies for the delay in replying, missed the thread somehow. To be honest I wonder if it's worth it or maybe get myself a secondhand epiphone which would have a 12" radius although still with the narrow neck. Thanks again. Mike

Have a look around for vintage-style Tele necks made by Goldo, a German company. I've had a couple (a Tele and a Strat) and they were really great. I believe they were Fender licensed too. I don't know if Goldo still exists anymore though.
