Judging by the 14 fret Duolian with slotted headstock, the ad looks to be 1934-35 ish. What's the deal with that Style 0? It appears to be a 12 fret, flat f-hole model with a chicken foot plate. Did they ever make those or is the drawing wrong (it also seems to have a "fiddle-edge" type body)? I have a 12 fret, flat f-hole Style-0 with a chicken foot cover, but I always assumed that it was replaced long ago (it's definitely a vintage chicken foot plate and not a modern repro). I always thought maybe mine was one of the early, non-ribbed coverplates that collapsed inwards like they tended to do, and was replaced with a chicken foot. Any thoughts?

These Sears ads are a bit vague to say the least. I wouldn't scrutinise them too closely. However, I know what you're referring to. I have never seen flat cut 12 fret bodies with a chicken foot plate (unless it's a later replacement). I HAVE seen them with 12 fret round f hole bodies with chicken feet plates. Not many, but there was an overlap before the 14 fret Style 0s.
