I have met Philippe. He has a good eye for guitar design, but the prices are quite high, especially as that coverplate can be bought on eBay for less than £20. Philippe used to sell guitars through LRC back in 2001, 2002.
It is a pretty guitar.

I may be wrong, but that doesn't look like a vintage instrument to me. I am sure the seller is honest and just doesn't know.

Also there is a major inconsistency in eBays rules. When I described a Busker as a ‘National copy’ my add was removed. Here were have ‘Dobro’ used with no problem . *#@£&*+++

That is interesting, because a few years ago that would not have happened. Gibson would have been on to that and stopped the use of the 'Dobro' word. They have lost their foothold and rightly so on what has become a generic term. National, on the other hand, are still able to protect their brand name and stop it from being used in connection with musical instruments. I had a conversation with Don Young about this twenty years ago. In any online presence of my own brand of guitars, I never compare them to, or even mention the 'N' word. I refer to them as 1930s metal bodied resonator guitars. "Is that one of those Busker Dobros?" Shine On Michael

Bluegrassers often describe the music they play as 'dobro'. You only have to look at the DVD ads for 'learn to play dobro' - i.e. bluegrass. TT

My late friend, John E Dopyera, the son of the inventor of Dobro & National guitars, named his home 'Dobro Acres'. He was an old man in his late 70s and the legal department at Gibson HQ took him to court over it and won. He had to change the name of his home. So every time I hear about Gibson having business problems, or people getting away with using the 'D' word, I jump with joy! DOBRO DOBRO DOBRO!!!! Shine On Michael
