A Busker Deco is on it's way. It left Tamworth at 3.23 am, heading for Cardiff. I bought it from Imperial Guitars in Cambridge. I get the impression it's a very small concern, and it's in Cambridge market. The person I've dealt with Keith, who seems a very nice guy, and has been very helpful.
They've got another Deco in stock, if anyone's interested, at £450 (a bit more than I paid). There aren't many around, and there's a 5 week turnaround at Busker for them, so if you're impatient, take a look on the internet.

RE: Imperial Guitars It is a VERY small concern, started by a couple who stopped working at a local music shop when a new manager took over. They are really nice people and have a small stock of odd guitars etc. I think your guitar still has some MM strings on (0.015 top string) and has (to my ears ) a great slide tone Pete T. Don`t think they have a second Deco.

After an agonising wait the guitar arrived at 5.30. There were a few problems at first - the 5th string tuner was very stiff, and when I bent the 1st string outwards, it went off the fret board. I've never had a stiff tuner before, so wasn't sure what to do. There was only 1 hit on YouTube for stiff tuners and the guy from Stewmac bathed s stiff tuner in something that sounded like napalm! He also mentioned using lighter fluid as a lubrication. Somebody else recommended WD40. I used a little organic cider vinegar, applied with a toothbrush, and it's fine now.
The strings seem a little light, and I snapped the 1st string retuning it. I've got a Martin light gage 1st string, but I'm getting used to the guitar. It sounds really good. Great sustain and lovely tone. I'll change the strings to Newtone Messer 13-56 when these strings get old.
I'm not convinced they have another Deco either. They seem a little disorganised, but that's part of their charm!

There is a very familiar looking lap steel on their site too

The best way to service a stiff m/head is with it off the guitar (you can then use any type of `lube` without getting any on the wood, your vinegar may cause some rust best to use lighter fluid to clean it off)) If it is not stiff when removed ,it could be tight in the hole, a little hard soap or wax on the shaft is often enough,(sometimes the m/head holes have been miss-drilled and a small rat-tailed file or reamer is needed to open the hole a little. ...is that the lap steel that's making my eyes flicker? I couldn't play that without shades ! How are you getting on with the Deco philh? I have had mine since '09 (I think, number on headstock says BDE 011 09) and I recall it took a while to get used to and to 'mellow'. I have since fitted a boxwood bridge which has sweetened it even more. Great guitars you'll have a lot of fun with it. Mike

The Deco's very good, and the tuner is OK now, after taking it off, and putting lighter fluid on it. In fact I'm going to play it now!
