Very nice indeed Stevie, I'm counting down the day's to May myself and a 14 fret blues.
why have some resonators three dots at the twelfth fret and some have one.

14 fret blues: great guitar. I regret having to sell mine. Really versatile reso. You should really enjoy that.
I think the number of dots have something to do with the number and positioning of the screws that hold the neck to the body. Presumably they go through to the block and neck stick. The screws are countersunk into the fretboard and the dots blank off the holes.

re: 3 dots. I think Amistar started building 12 fret resonators with 3 dots. The middle dot has a screw that goes into a small ply triangle that comes off of the piece of ply under the finger/b . When the other screws are fitted the finger/b. and neck are pulled down onto the body. (there is often a wedge from the ply to the neck-stick which also keeps the neck in place) . So when removing such a neck the middle dot must be taken out and the screw removed first . This style of neck fitting may have gone to China via Amistar. Michael may know. PT
