The Fender Brwn Derby arrived. I have glued and clamped (with 7 clamps hopefully good luck) the broken headstock ... It fit together nicely...and will remove the clamps in 12 hours. Am impressed with the construction. It has 4 national style mushrooms propping the sound well. As there was no cone supplied I need to locate one. Have a cheap stamped for initial tryout, and if the repair holds will look to purchase a continental or other premium cone.
Anyone know of a USA source for a continental biscuit cone?...google and eBay yield none. Elderly shows the conti spider cone only. Stewmac shows their house brand spun biscuit cone (anyone tried one?) and a Repogle cone (?). Otherwise may go national if the headstock stays put... Thanks

The hot rod cone at Elderly did not come up on any of the google searches I did. Thanks. Yeah I probably should try one out. I bought the Brown Derby only as a project thought it may turn out to be a good player. (Its the fourth busted headstock i repaired in the past few months, including a nice Gibson Les Paul). I could swap out a spun cone from another reso and try the hot rod around to see where it does the best.
