Here's a Flickr photo set of a 1935 National Rosita square neck I saw the other day in Santa Clara, California. www.flickr.com/photos/wellvis/sets/72157651876221991/I believe the asking price is rather high due to a number of factors, including: - Biscuit string spacing is uneven (especially between the fifth and sixth strings).
- Tailpiece has been broken and repaired (not a very good job).
- Repaired crack in the upper left bout.
- Nut is standard guitar height, not raised as it should be on a square neck instrument.
On the other hand, it has a very loud and bright tone, and is in good overall condition. Your thoughts, ladies and gentlemen?

Hi there !
Looks like you are tryings to build up enough reasons NOT to buy this guitar !!!
Othere than the crack in the side (I can't see any sign of repair, good or bad - but I can't seem to make any picture full-screen for a better look) the guitar looks in fabulous condition cosmetically. The fact that it is a Rosita and it is a squareneck DOES lower the interest value for many people - so definitely it would not be worth the same as a Style O or Duolian in great consmetic condition.
Is it worth as much as that ? Good question. Anywhere between $800 and the amount the shop are asking is a fair pric, I'd say.

Oh yeah, as for string spacing, I think the 6th string has probably just popped out of it's slot. Push it back into place and I bet the string spacing looks fine !

If it sounds good I'd buy it. I think it's a great looking Instrument and doesn't seem expensive.

No, the string spacing was actually uneven on the biscuit bridge. Someone cut it incorrectly (probably the same person who "fixed" the tailpiece). It's certainly an interesting instrument, but if I were to consider it, I'd have to get it tuned up to play properly.

If the crack repair is good then I wouldn't let the other things put me off at least making an offer for it, as they can be fixed pretty easily, although I think the asking price is rather more than I'd be prepared to pay. I take it you've actually seen and handled it?

Yeah, I spent less than 30 minutes with it, though. I think the things that are wrong with it are fixable, but it's priced a bit too high. Then again, as they say, Go Find Another One.
