Hi All,
Latest update in the saga of the Radiotone Bendaway is that I have gone for Kristo's hot plate. It means my guitar is getting more and more expensive but I guess at the end of it I will have spent about a grand on a cutaway National with a higlander, hot plate, a new hot rod cone and bridge saddle, plus a set-up by Dave King. I am hoping a very versatile guitar and with all those features, still reasonable value.
For gigging I can run the two outputs into separate channels of my AS100 and I hope get an interesting sound with quite a few possibilities.
Thanks to everyone for the advice and offers of help.

Hi Folks,
Having bored you all with the saga of the Radiotone Bendaway I bought off eBay, I thought I should at least complete the story.
I followed the advice to get a Hotplate cover plate: fortunately Kristo was able to supply me with one secondhand. Dave had some issues completing the assembly but after a lot of hard work and some suggestions from Michael about mounting the cone on felt, it all came together OK. Unfortunately, the intonation turned out a bit dodgy above the 5th fret, so it had to go back to Dave for some more work but he has sorted it now and I picked it up last week.
The good news is that it sounds fantastic, IMO. It didn't turn out to be quite the bargain I thought it was going to be but I now have a very versatile National in good used condition. It gets its first gig this evening and I think it is more than up to it. With both a Highlander and a Hotplate in it, I have a lot of amplified options and the cutaway is a real boon when using a capo.
Many thanks to Michael, Lee, Snakehips and others who have provided advice, guidance and encouragement during this saga!
