........Incidentally, the book's origins can be traced back to an old thread on this very forum five years ago... thanks for the inspiration, Mr. Messer! Dear Peter77 While I am sure there are many members of this forum who would be interested in your book, I would have thought that having been a member for the past two years and having first visited five years ago, that you are fully aware of my 'no advertising' policy. I have therefore deleted your advert. Occasionally when forum members do have something they wish to advertise or promote that they think will appeal to us, they ask my permission before posting anything. Usually what I do is post it for them as a news item, rather than an advert. I wish you success with your book and rather than totally delete everything, I have left the title of this thread which still partly achieves what you intended. I am pleased the thread on here five years ago was an inspiration. I wonder if Keith Perry has remembered offering me the guitar in 1991 yet. Shine On Michael.

It's a shame this had to be removed, I received an advance copy of this book 2 years ago and I am certain many forum members would devour it with pleasure. I was honored to be able to contribute some information about Bukka which I received from the late Maynard Silva shortly before he passed, some stuff I had never seen published before.
I won't post any links here if it's not acceptable, but if anyone is interested, searching for the book's title online will get you there.

Hi Zak,
I didn't want to remove it, but there is a 'no ads' policy on the forum and Peter knows that. Usually people ask before they post a advert and I post it for them. If I opened the adverts flood-gates we would lose our forum, in a matter of days it would be overrun with ads. I hate to sound mean, but why should I, having spent over ten years building up this forum, give people advertising space and get nothing in return.
Having said that, there is nothing stopping you posting a link, as you are not selling the book. Posted in that way it is a news item.
Shine On Michael

I fully understand, and even if I didn't - it's your house, your rules. There are a few places on the internet that I occasionally frequent where the self-promotion is absurd...some folks will find a way to turn virtually any topic into a way to promote their "instructional DVDs" or whatnot. I don't wish to advertise for anything or anyone, but I do think that many of the people here would really enjoy reading this book. I certainly did, multiple times. I thought I had exhaustively read every article and interview and any other shred of literature about Bukka, but there was material here that was completely new to me. For those only passingly familiar with Bukka, there's a very thorough telling of his life story and a discussion of pretty much every recording he made. zantii7.wix.com/bookersguitarApparently the least expensive way to order it is through www.lulu.com
