I'm not sure who Robert Lee John is, he apparently wrote this article for guitarsite.com about the resonator guitar. Read it and weep at pictures of single cone instruments with no hole in the hand rest that means there is a National style cone under there, being described as Dobros, and the ultimate 'Dumb and Dumber' line when in referring to the word Dobro meaning good, he says" Little did the Dopyera Brothers know that the word Dobro is a word in many European Languages which basically means "Good." The ignorant @@@ isn't even aware that it was a word from their own native language.
I'm too irritated by it to post a comment on the article's website tonight, but anyone who feels up to it please go for it! ;-)
Hmm, Yes, interesting; but with you guys I make up nine people that have read it. Incidentally I had noticed the use of the word Dobro in 'Good Morning' in Croatia recently and was going to ask a question, no need now:-)
Perhaps English is not his first Language. God, I hope not! As for his classification of resonator guitars, surely cone type (tricone, biscuit, spider) is the way to go. Have some Random capitals For Good measure.
