I have a Taylor 355 jumbo 12 string tuned way down to B (sometimes C) standard with 12 Gauge strings, it sounds really good!, there's just something about a low tuned 12 string that makes it sound like a 12 string should!

Hi Alex,
12 string guitars tuned down is the way forward!
I tune mine down in Spanish tuning to F, E and sometimes D. The same in Vesterpol tuning - down to C, B and way down to A. I very rarely tune it to Spanish G or Vesterpol D.
Two definitive classic examples of this are Blind Willie McTell and Leadbelly
