I love playing slide on Parlors almost as much as Reso! Anyone have a pickup recommendation? I want something that's not visible (so sound hole is out), has good acoustic/slide tone and doesn't amplify too much string noise if possible. It's for a Washburn vintage style acoustic (one of the solid wood models) and it'll just be used busking style thru a Cube Street or similar.

Hi Gaucho,
try L.R.Baggs Anthem SL or L.R.Baggs Lyric. Both are internal microphone based, first one is combined with under saddle piezzo. They are not cheap - cost is around 200$ in US - but they worth.
cheers

I like the K&K mini very much. No batteries, no messing about, easy to fit and as washboardchris says, a very natural sound. When I find some cash I'm intending to get several more- though I;ve not really played slide with one.
They are more expensive than they ought to be in this country. If you hunt about you can find US companies on the internet which will ship them pretty cheaply. When I bought mine, I saved about £20 even with shipping etc and the dollar price is much better now than it was then.

I'd like to hear some acoustics with the L.R.Baggs Lyric fitted, but till then the K&K absolutely gets my vote too. A good sound, and it's not too expensive.

I have a K&K Pure Mini in a ladder braced Regal and an A&L Ami. It sounds very natural, even in a recording situation it sounds convincing. It is said you can plug it straight into 1MOhm, but I always use a LR Baggs ParaDI.
I agree that they are more expensive to get them here than in the US, but even so, they are inexpensive for the sound you get. The only "obvious" modification is the larger endpin.
Spats.
P.S. I also have them in archtops.

Aren't your wound (bronze) Strings much lower in volume than you unwound (nickel) strings with that mag pick-up? You should try it with all nickel strings and I think you'll find it much more balanced. For my purposes, I think the K and K looks really good. I really like the LR Baggs ones too but they are double the price and use a battery. For as much as I'll be using this guitar I think the K and K is a more sessile choice for me.

For busking, the Bill Lawrence A-300 or FT 145 soundhole pickups are fine and work well thru' a Roland Microcube / Streetcube. Don't worry about the appearance, your audience certainly won't care about it. It just clips into the soundhole, and you can either permanently wire it to a jack socket or used the trailing lead for a temporary installation. Cheap, simple and effective...and no batteries needed. I use them all the time in my Stellas for gigs and busking.
