Hi again !
Yes ! Thats the picture of the guitar reportedly belonging to Elmore James, handed in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Bobby Robinson !
Still don't understand how I posted it wrong ? What * are you meaning ?
Do you mean I should have put in the * 's ? I clicked on the icon you said to click, deleted "URL" and input the address for the pic. What I do wrong ?
Oh, and it is a "1" or an "l" for Larry ! ??

Hi again ! Ah ha !!!!!! Thats what I did wrong ! Tell me, how you find it ? I've now put a few photo's on this website but can't find out a way to see the pictures - is there some sort of "My Page" of my photos ? I've tried another webhosting site, similar to this, and also couldn't find my pics. Unless I write down the exact address for each pic, the next time I go to this website, I don't know how to see what pics I have put on it ! ? I've put some photos of my own Archtop National (which has the same pickup, but no F-holes) on this hosting service.

In the book this picture comes from, it states that it is a 1948 National.
Does that sound about right ?
Would like to know your opinion on mine when I suss how to post pics of it ! ?

I think the "Elmore James" guitar is a National Princess from between 1942 and 1948. Gruhn's Guide describes it this way: "15" wide, f-holes, rectangular pickup near bridge, 2 knobs, jack on upper bass side, trapeze tailpiece, tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard, triple-bound top and back, rosewood fingerboard, block inlay, tortoiseshell celluloid peghead veneer, natural finish." That's the description that comes closest to the guitar in the picture. Snakehips, I think your National archtop was one of the guitars we discussed on this thread: michaelmesser.proboards7.com/index.cgi?board=tin&action=display&n=1&thread=51

I'll leave it up to you to figure out what he's playing on his headstone, which reads, "Elmore James, King of the Slide Guitar":

Okay, just one more Elmore James photo! Here he's holding Kay's first solid-body electric -- the K125, a 1952 single-pickup predecessor to the better known twin-pickup K161 (the "Jimmy Reed" or "Thin Twin"):
