I've just had a probably stupid idea. The fishman/aura is out of my price remit, but what would a boss acoustic pedal linked to a reso sound like? Anyone got one that would try this experiment? TT

OK, so I've bought one myself. 'Unfortunately', I dont have a lace type pick-up, so I'll run it through the sollophonic, and see if it can sound like a 'don' ;D TT

Didn't you acquire a Microcube TT? That has an "Acoustic" setting. It probably amounts to much the same thing as a pedal sold for the same purpose. It'd be interesting to see how it fares in line with your thinking...

Purely an experiment, Stevie. I love the microcube, and I hope it will work real well with my clip-on mic going direct into a PA. TT

I certainly like the sound I get. I used to have a feather type piezo pickup that attached directly to the cone. Horrible tinny sound with real feedback problems. I love the warm dobro tones that the Lace gives with plenty of volume and zero feedback problems. It sounds good plugged directly into my street cube. I have one of those fishman aura pedals but I wouldn't recommend it. The different settings are so subtely different to my ears that it's not worth having although it could be different with a Fishman pickup. I'm going to sell it soon. Hi Brian I've seen a couple of clips of lace sensors, for a DM33 and for a MM blues - not great clips. Does it give an authentic sound? TT

O Robin. Have you decided on anything yet. Please advise us all what it is when you do finalize.
Take care and best wishes all.

I heared that the combination of the Flatbucker AND a Piezo-PU works great.

I've tried everything over the years to amplify my National guitars, and I really hate anything with a piezo,or anything that slows down the cones vibration, right now I'm using a 57 ,straight to the board with decent PA's, but with a crappy PA I put the 57 through a BBE Acoustamax really does the trick I can always control my sound this way, LR Baggs is presently working on a version of their new 'lyric' Mic system for resonator guitars,I think this sounds pretty promising,

Quote... "I like the metallic, nasty sound of an old steel guitar, overdriven through tube amps. It's the best sound in the world!" Gwyn Ashton. Its a great experience, especially with a 1200 watt PA behind it... TT
