Mark, your Avatar is a beautiful photo - who is he? The make-up reminds me of David Bowie, the hat is a bit Boy George....and then there's the banjo! It's a lovely photo, I like the shapes. Classic Vaudeville & Music Hall (I bet nobody will ever say that about my Avatar!!!!)

The man with the hat is George H.Chirgwin - the hottest music hall act in town in London in 1865. Known as the "White Eyed Kaffir". Supposedly the first man to appear in "blackface" - later taken up by vaudeville performers in the US about 20 years later!
