My suggestions for your next DVD -
Mixing up slide playing with fretted notes to form interesting combination riffs/phrases.
Combining slide playing with monotone/alternating bass rhythyms.

Hi again I think all have good suggestions about subjects to a new DVD on blues slide guitar.... I just got the blues slide guitar DVD whic hI ordered from Euroblues...I must say that all which was told here is true...good camera angles, good views, and what's really important as well, good explanations, short and clear...good sound quality, and keeping it simple.....and not all his "I'm the best here"-stuff.....really great.... SOme of the basics explained are things I have already learned, but still it was explained so I can possibly refine my technique.....and the rifs are gear also, because I have not learned these before....and also the chords as well... Simply great and welle explained and illustrated.... Best wishes Eholst

I thought you would find the DVD useful ehoist. I'm still working on it three weeks later and getting new and useful stuff out of it. And I haven't even started studying the section on G yet. Ok, I'm a slow learner, I admit it!!!!
My take on these DVD's is that, probably one already knows a lot of the content, for instance I already knew a lot of the chords, BUT, it doesn't matter what DVD's you watch, what CD's you listen to, what magazine articles you read, or who you talk to, YOU WILL ALWAYS LEARN SOMETHING!!!!!

Hi Rich
You are SO right there....always you can learn new things, even small details as refining your technique on locating the slide more correctly, vvibrating it more slower and such....
I will also use the DVD many times ahead, yesterday was just getting started....
Best wishes
Eholst

Michael said, "The sequel will be available later this year. It will be a lap steel beginners lesson, much in the same format as the Blues Slide DVD. There will be a volume 2 Blues Slide Guitar DVD, but we do not have a date to film it yet."
Hey Michael, any news on when we can expect the Lap Style DVD or volume 2 Blues Slide?

Hi Steve,
'An Introduction to Lap Steel Guitar' will be ready for manufacture in a few days from now, so it should be available in a few weeks.
Volume 2 of the Blues Slide Guitar DVD is not scheduled yet, but as soon as the Lap Steel one is released I am going to start planning the content.
Thanks for your interest.

There is at least one customer you can count on - I will be high on the list for your DVD
In my case maybe it should be - 'lap steel and how to stop upsetting the neighbours dog', I look forward to it - please keep us posted as to its arrival!

Percy, I have included a 'neighbours' pets' section in the lap steel DVD, which I think you will find very helpful.

Personally I've never got on very well with tuition DVDs. I always find that I get too easily distracted from the lesson and start going off and noodling on something else instead.
Based on the comments on this forum though, I decided to give this DVD a go and I have to say it's fantastic. It's engaging (managed to keep my fish-like attention anyway), brilliantly filmed, well-pitched and easy to follow.
Anyone who's thinking of giving it a go, don't hesitate. It's a superb product and for the price of half an hour's personal tuition, you get well over an hour of intensive instruction which you can keep on coming back to.
Thanks Michael. Looking forward to vol. 2 already.

Hello and greetings from So California: Although I've played drums professionally for over 35 years, I know nothing about playing guitar. Would this DVD be a good start for a TOTAL beginner, or is there something else available that would be better suited for me? I don't expect to make a career out of playing blues guitar; I just want to learn for my own enjoyment and to give me a different perspective of the music. Thanks for any advice.

Hi atthecrossroads,
Welcome to our forum.
I am trying not to sound too much like a salesperson;
The DVD is designed to be used by total beginners to blues slide guitar and will get you started with all the basic information required to play that and other styles.
Many beginners have bought the DVD and found it worked for them, so I think you would be pleased with the content and the presentation.
The other beginners' DVD on Euro Blues Promotions website is Michael Roach's 'Country Blues Guitar' and I think it is excellent. Michael Roach teaches the very basics to picking country blues and his lesson is very clear and easy to follow. Michael's approach to teaching right hand picking, which is such an essential part of playing blues, is first class. The best I've seen. So you wouldn't go far wrong with a copy of both DVDs; 'An Introduction to Blues Slide Guitar' and 'An Introduction to Country Blues Guitar'
Thanks for the enquiry, keep in touch.
Any further help or advice, you know where to find us.
Shine On Michael.
