'Quicksand' is a new single composed and recorded by Ry Cooder, as he works on completing a new album with Bob Dylan and a host of others. For the next Do Hickies project I'm thinking of replacing the plastic wheel trim on my vintage Kangoo!

We have a couple of formal gigs booked in October. 'We are using these summer months to work on our public image'
Actually we are in the process of building a website, putting together a 'press pack', designing some handbills ' and we need to find some time to put a demo CD together .
As we are grown ups and have family commitments holidays etc., actually getting us all in the same place at once, is a bit difficult during the summer months.
As it was sunny, Pete, (the Harp player), and I sat in the Garden of a local pub last Sunday. As the promised entertainment hadn't turned up we volunteered to fill in. We knocked out a few numbers like 'Can't be Satisfied', and 'The Long Black Veil', We were just busking, and having fun. People seemed to like us!, including Colin the owner of the pub who booked us for another date there.
But I haven't got the wheel trim sorted yet!

Thanks H, and thanks for posting the links to your material on soundcloud I won't start a separate thread, until I've got some slide material to post, it seems unethical somehow, but that could be soon. I am really enjoying playing with the Dh's. Its a comfortable band to be in.
If anyone out there is thinking of hiring a band for a function of any sort - Remember our slogan
'No Gig Too Big No Hall Too Small'
I just realised that if our highly esteemed moderator reads this I might get zapped for advertising. No No I'm just reminding people of our slogan......

Percy, If you are looking for a decent Doo Hickies web site framework, you could consider using FourFour. Roy Rogers uses it for his website, and it is free (advertising supported) in its basic incarnation.. It has got everything a band needs, and is reasonably easy to setup. Check it out..

Thanks guys,
I will pass the FourFour info on to Pete Doo-Hickie who has full command of the www end of our barn! (Like the Beatles we all live together but in our case its an Atcost Barn).
Me - I've just got Logic Studio so studio so I'm living amongst the XLR spaghetti but it does mean that I should be able to get something out to the world soon.
Tips will be gratefully received.
