Hi Fibrebundle.
Just my 2 paisa worth. I use a Babisc Spider Guitar. The neck is adjustable up and down for low or high action, without going out of tune. The strings are spread across the soundboard to the outer edge of the guitar and anchored there. They come standard with 12 gauge strings and sound real nice. The neck adjusts so easily in second. Take care

Thanks, gouranga, but I won't get it around where I live.

Well, finally, I got myself the Martin D-15. All solid mahogany (actually, sapele). What eventually swung it its way was the HUGE sixth string bass. I did not know an acoustic could possess so much bass. Strummed, it sounds great--expansive, loud, rich. My only gripe at the moment is that the sixth string bass overpowers the fifth string bass. As a result, if I am playing say blues in the key of A, the dominant chord (E) and a particular voicing of the subdominant (D/F#) overpower the tonic chord (A)! Hopefully, this will change as the guitar opens up and settles down, and I hope the sound becomes more balanced.

You could also try a lighter bass E string.

You could also try a lighter bass E string. Thats an idea. Or, a heavier A....
