Hmmm. I should have checked first shouldnt I?
I assumed that when you said about sending the old girl away, you were UK based..
Well, good luck with it anyway.

Whereabouts in the US are you Gmoon? I am sure I can recommend someone closer to you to look at your guitar. 2000 miles round trip for a new bridge saddle is quite serious.
Shine On Michael.

I'm located in northeastern Ohio; bit of a jog from Cali.
We have an experienced luthier in town, who refretted one of my guitars several years ago (not a resonator.) Still, I'm reluctant, based on my readings here...
Happy Christmas, many thanks to all!

See if someone at Cotten Music in Nashville can help you. The sell resos, and surely they know someone. Or give Gruhn guitars in Nashville a ring. They've been dealing in vintage guitars for decades. www.gruhn.com/

Thanks, Markm. Those are closer...
I've contacted some local musicians, who've offered a few names (no resonator players, though.)

I sent my old Duolian to Marc Schoenberger from Tennessee via UPS. It arrived with no problems and was shipped back with no problems. I had it in a hard shell case and then had the case carefully packed for shipping. I just don't trust basic luthiers/repairmen in repairing a reso. I don't think there is that much in common between a National and a conventional guitar. Now if the luthier has had a lot of experience with resos, then there should be no problem.

Gmoon I'm in Cincinnati--no reso luthiers here but check with Wildwood Music in Conshocton, OH they are a big time NRP retailer and shld be able to recommend someone closer still. Wildwood also handles a good number of old Nationals so they probably can recommend someone accustomed to working on them without MODERNINZING them

You sent that overseas? Wow! How long did it take to get to California?

Hi there !
No, I bought it, from a US dealer, just AFTER it had had a neck reset.

They are fairly close--I'll give a call. There isn't much info on their website (no bragging, anyway), but that's not a decent gauge...
